Discovering Web Analytics and Developer Insights

WebsiteAnalytics
UserBehavior
Heatmaps
AnalyticsTools

Earlier this week, I stumbled upon a website called attentioninsight.com while browsing social media. This site generates heatmaps and other analytics for your website design, which I found fascinating, as it was my first encounter with such a tool. This made me curious about other tools that aid in website and user behavior analytics. Here are some of those tools, listed in no particular order:

WebDevelopment
UIUXDesign
Modals
Dialogs
Drawers

As a developer, I didn't give much thought to using modals, drawers, or dialogs. I wasn't even aware that modals and dialogs were different concepts. However, after seeing a this tweet, I became more knowledgeable about what to choose. At first glance, it might seem confusing, but you'll find it useful once you start to understand it.

WebDevelopment
ImageOverlay

Okay, This one liner trick to display image overlay is mind blowing!

Animations
UIUXDesign

"Great animations" - This article by Emil Kowalski on animations is must to read.

PersonalAI

I tried dot by new computer and its really feel fine tuned and personal. It doesn’t feels like ChatGPT, Gemini or any other AI that you can text or talk with. It remembers your conversations to build an increasing understanding of you and in my opinion, we need more AI like this instead of asking just queries to different search engine kind of AI. I read this on internet some days back "I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.” While I don't expect it to do my laundry, it's great to have an AI that understands my daily routine and personal context. I'm still exploring its capabilities and it's too early to provide detailed feedback, but my initial impressions are positive. Let's wait for the next weekly recap to see if I discover any interesting use cases to share.

That’s it for this week. Let’s catch up in next one.
